McDonald's Corporation has an exciting opportunity for a Web Content Specialist on our Corporate System Communications team!Corporate System Communications is responsible for aligning the McDonald's System through internal communications so that employees, Owner/Operators and Suppliers understand, engage, and act in ways that advance the company's business agenda.We do this through two areas of focus:* Leadership Communications: We help our senior leaders increase their impact. We do this by developing strategies that maximize their communication effectiveness and elevate the way communication advances their business plans. * Employee Communications: We align our employees around critical global brand and business initiatives through two-way dialogue and engagement so that we create deeper levels of commitment, greater understanding of roles and in turn, compel action that drives business impact. The Web Content Specialist (WCS) is responsible for creating and acquiring content for websites, email newsletters and other online communications media such as podcasts, including plain text, links, database content, still images (illustrations, photographs, diagrams), animation, audio, video, interactive devices (forms, forums, chat rooms, polls, questionnaires, etc.). The main responsibility of the WCS will be to create and acquire content (primarily textual but also audio/video-rich media), although a close relationship with other web and media specialists, such as graphic designers, will certainly be required.Responsibilities:* Schedule the creation/acquisition of content in accordance with editorial policy, allocate tasks to additional content contributors and manage the creation/acquisition of content according to the schedule and the costs within agreed budgets.* Create content (websites, e-newsletters, SMS messages, VO scripts, web forms, copyright clearance)* Research and write feature stories* Use metadata tagging and other methods to optimize search engine positions, communicate with other site owners in order to maximize incoming links and ensure the site is listed in relevant indexes and directories* Respond to user enquiries, comments and suggestions, moderate forums and chat sessions and edit and/or approve content contributions made by users.* Maintain content (update, maintain & archive)* Evaluation (audience research, usage statistics, user feedback, editorial policy)THIS IS NOT A WEB PROGRAMMING OR WEB DESIGN POSITION Requirements:* Bachelor's degree in marketing, writing/journalism, English, communications, or related areas* 3-5 years online publishing experience * Excellent written and verbal communication skills* Extremely detail-oriented, strong problem-solving skills, ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines* Must be a team player with the ability to collaborate and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment* Experience using Content Development Tools such as DreamWeaver, FrontPage, HTML, Microsoft Office tools
