ACCOUNTS PAYABLE SENIOR MANAGER

Furniture Brands International is seeking the position of Accounts Payable Senior Manager, at our Clayton, MO, corporate headquarters (Metropolis; Saint Louis).

 

Candidates for accounts payable senior manager should have exceptional A/P process and technology skills, superior supervisory and managerial skills, and solid written and verbal communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.

Typical duties include: Lead payables shared service implementation, including centralizing several payables departments, developing centralized payables process flow and controls, hiring payables staff in centralized department, training and supervising respective staff on several payables systems (SAP, JDE, and Legacy), developing service level agreements for payables process, and ensuring customer satisfactionDeveloping and monitoring payables best practices, metrics, and customer satisfactionOperating in a continuous improvement environmentTracking and ensuring solid controls throughout payables process, including systemsCreating exceptional management reports for proactive decision-making and assistanceIdentifying areas to improve efficiency and effectiveness of payables processesAssist with internal and external audits as neededManage and improve internal controls documentationAssist with systems implementation and special projects as neededPerform monthly account reconciliations and variance analysis as neededPreparing accruals and reconciling to the general ledgerMaintaining cash requirements schedules and accounts payable aging analysisPerforming general ledger posting and monthly/year-end reconciliationsHiring, training and supervising accounts payable staff



Candidates should have at least ten years of relevant experience displaying these skills as an A/P manager or above level and an advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems experience and knowledge in SAP, JD Edwards, and/or comparable systems preferred. College degree in accounting, CPA, and/or CMA preferred.
