ASSOCIATE BUYER-IMAGINARIUMUpdate Job ListingDescription: *Partnering with the Buyer, will be responsible for buying product for a specific department or departments of merchandise to achieve sales and margin objectives. Assist in the development of customer driven assortment plans. Negotiate with vendors on availability and distribution of merchandise, delivery deadlines, and allowances as needed. Manage "on order". Ensure timely delivery of merchandise through consistent communication and follow-up with vendors, distribution and merchant/planning team. Responsible for extensions and cancellations of purchase orders. Track shipping on all advertised items and work with planning teams to prioritize orders for the logistic network/DC's.. Accountable for proofing all advertising before release and tracking sales on all advertised merchandise. Requirements:   Must have 2 yrs. min. retail buying or planning experience..  Strong analytical skills as well as strong negotiation skills.  Detail oriented and a creative problem solver.  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills..  Computer skills necessary to perform job include internal systems (Retek  tools -Assort, POM, Tinquiry, etc.) in addition to Word, Excel and Outlook.
