Accountant II

This associate will be responsible for applying technical accounting practices and concepts beyond the mere application of detailed rules and instructions to assist the financial reporting manager with financial reporting, general ledger accounting, and other general accounting activities.  This is part of a career development series allowing for possible advancement to Senior Accountant.   Duties Performs regular account reconciliation by utilizing accrual and payment information from Oracle and accounts payable to determine accuracy. Prepares and distributes various standardized and unstandardized reports for distribution to various levels of management.  Creates ad-hoc reports.  Prepares standard financial documents and reports according to a regular schedule. Prepares and makes journal entries.  Prepares standard and general journal entries including supporting schedules.  Posts and balances general ledger accounts and prepares year-end adjusting entries. Monitors budgets on a monthly basis. Provides assistance with the annual budgeting process. Assists with month end coordination of Oracle system process completion. Maintains and updates financial databases. Provides audit assistance.  Pulls records, performs research, and provides other forms of assistance to internal and external auditors. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business management or related field required 3-5 years directly related experience required preferably using Oracle, Cognos, or other similar business applications.
