Job Opportunity at Our Portland, Oregon Corporate Office

 

The Accounting Specialist will perform a variety of clerical duties related to accounting such as posting to journals, ledgers and other accounting records. Prepare statements, invoices and routine reports, verify records. Responsible for accounts receivable.

 

 

Essential Functions

 

·  Reconcile credit card date to bank.

·  Run daily integration of bank activity into accounting system.

·  Reconcile bank accounts daily, weekly and monthly.

·  Transfer cash from store bank accounts to concentration account.

·  Prepare miscellaneous deposits.

·  Take deposits to bank three times a week.

·  Maintain NSF check list.

·  Run and post daily sales activity reports to accounting system software.

·  Compile miscellaneous work papers for year-end review by outside auditors.

·  Distribute monthly financial statements internally and externally.

·  Assist with month-end GL closing process as directed.

·  Archive files on a monthly basis.

·  Maintain & upkeep of donations records from stores.

·  Review duty and sales tax on Canadian bills and prepare a wire several times per month.

·  Prepare certified mailings.

 

 

Position Requirements

 

·  2 to 3 years Accounts Receivable experience.

·  Good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

·  Strong data entry and keyboarding skills; 10-key by touch.

·  Solid mathematical and analytical skills.

·  Excellent attention to detail.

·  Customer service focus.

·  Familiarity and high comfort level in working with numbers on a daily basis.

·  Ability to maintain confidentiality of accounting information.

·  Working knowledge of PC spreadsheets, accounting and word-processing software.
