Job Category Accounting/Finance/Insurance Analyst-- Shortage Control, Bloomingdale's New York Overview:Analyze the effectiveness of our store shortage controls using a combination of measurements, such as shortage results, return on investment and impact on the brand.  Make recommendations for improving practices and results for future inventories. Core Job Responsibilities: Analyze and produce Shortage Risk Factor reporting: Correlation and Regression analysis of risk factors for stores, divisions and departments. Maintain internet based dashboards Support internet based audit program used for internal audit, Loss Prevention and self audits Conduct audits in stores as needed Analyze trends and exceptions, generate management reports Determine weighting factors for audit templates and questions Expand and technically support store input of self audits into APIS or if hardware is an issue, then create more user friendly on line audit capability. Seasonal Action Plan financial analysis, template maintenance and automated reporting. Merchandise Protection analysis and recommendations based upon pilot and inventory results Assist in season end process To reduce the risk to the annual inventory process Produce high level exception issue report to follow up on SRF and audit call outs U Shortage review and analysis Salvage and DIF analysis to highlight stores with low activity (currently only done in December) Known Stolen review and analysis Assist in shortage awareness program the b-way of Awareness Develop and maintain on line minutes capability for shortage awareness teams Support Shortage Program intranet site Perform analysis on store shortage call outs Assist in inventory reconciliation for big and small ticket inventories Job Qualifications/Requirements: Strong attention to detail, checks and balances Strong interpersonal, presentation and persuasive skills Strong written, verbal, and analytical skills Ability to multitask effectively Strong organizational skills, effective time management allowing for multitasking Quick learning skills Computer literacy – proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 1-2 years experience in marketing analysis a plus Prior retail experience a plus Bloomingdale’s Is an Equal Opportunity Employer, committed to a diverse and inclusive work environment
