Here, you ll develop big ideas, graphic concepts and practical designs to give our guests hip products they ll use every day. PurposeAs a Textile Designer, develop and execute textile designs that achieve overall product strategy and merchant objectives. Key Accountabilities Execute designs for a given season, business segment and Target guest. Participate in research & development of seasonal trends, themes, concepts, color, fabric, and styling. Ensure designs meet merchant line plans, assortment strategies, price points and overall creative direction. Develop prints, pattern work and silhouettes. Ensure textile design package is complete, accurate and handed off to Technical Design/AMC/Merchandising/Sr. Designer on time. Maintain consistent POV (point of view) and POD (point of difference) within the brand through collaboration with Design Manager and peers. Collaborate with Merchandising, AMC/Sourcing and vendors to achieve product execution and maintain design integrity. Produce cohesive product presentations to sell concepts to merchants, including boards, tears, samples, etc. Develop an understanding of business and assortment strategies. Interact and develop relationships with Tech Designers, buyers, vendors, Color Office to exchange ideas, leverage expertise and streamline the process. Manage expenses to budget. Working Relationships Design Manager Design Teams Merchants Vendors AMC Technical Designers VP, Softlines Design and Product Development Job RequirementsMinimum Requirements:4-year college degree in graphic design, fine arts or related schooling Minimum of two years of experience in related category Expertise in CAD illustration, print, and pattern design In-depth knowledge of textile design, fabric construction, and printing and dyeing methods Demonstrated high taste level and creative ability Knowledge of textile design and product development processes, including textiles Presentation and organizational skills Proven textile design expertise in a given category Commercial sense and market knowledge Team player Strong listening skills and experience assimilating product feedback Ability to prioritize and manage workload with multiple deadlines Demonstrated pro-active thinking and problem-solving ability Ability to research and apply market/trend information Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision See The Rewards Eligible team members will receive one of the best earnings packages anywhere, including competitive pay, all-around insurance coverage, 401(k), flexible scheduling, training and development and many other perks and benefits.
