We currently have the following opportunity available at our Merrimack Corporate Headquarters, 45 minutes from Boston:
IT Application Development Project Manager
The objective of the AD Project Manager is to work closely with business managers and the pyramid head to identify business opportunities that can be exploited with process improvements and/or technology. The Project Manager’s role is to identify and implement appropriate solutions to business problems that will enable to Company to improve customer service and/or increase profitability.
Responsibilities include:
Project Management
·Day-to-day management of assigned projects, ensuring a high level of communications with all stakeholders.
· Plans, assigns, and directs the activities of professional and technical personnel involved in the analysis, design, development, and testing required to create new applications or install and implement third party software.
· Ensures timely and effective delivery of the solution into production.
Business Analysis:
·Business problem analysis, recommendation of solutions to business problems, analysis of hardware and software options and the development of business requirements and application designs.
·Develops ROI analyses for projects including capital and ongoing expenses to support solutions along with identifying benefits.
Application and Data Security
·Ensure that all applications are capable of limiting access to only those Associates authorized by management to have such access and that the Associates have access to only those functions within the application necessary to perform his or her job responsibility.·Work with users to ensure understanding of the security capabilities of the application.·Ensure that all IT application development and change management policies and procedures conform to regulatory requirements and are monitored and enforced.
· The AD Project Manager is also responsible for ensuring that all applications developed internally or purchased from vendors comply with regulatory requirements for application and data security and that implementation of such applications conforms to the regulatory requirements for program development and change management.
Application Development and Support:
·Facilitate code reviews, software design sessions, and architectural reviews. Assist analysts and programmers with application and program design, defining testing requirements and success criteria, managing business and technical issues, developing and reviewing project documentation.
·Assist analysts and programmers with problem resolution.
Strategic Systems Planning:
·Developing strategic systems plans in conjunction with the Director of Application Development and senior management.
·Stay abreast of trends and technology
Expense Management
· Plan and manage capital and expense budgets.
Hiring / Human Capital Management
· Hire and maintain talented individuals.
Qualified Candidates will possess:
Essential:
· College degree in Business/Computer Science or equivalent program
·Minimum of 10 years Application Development experience, including 5 years of Information Technology management experience
·Ability to work on multiple concurrent projects with aggressive schedules
·Proficient in business application analysis and design
·Excellent project management skills
·Excellent skills related to application and data security
·Proficient in short and long range planning
·Excellent problem solver
·Excellent written and oral communications skills
·Highly organized with attention to detail
·Team player
Desired:
·Experience in Retail and/or Direct Marketing applications
·Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Project
·Familiarity with AS/400, Internet and client/server technology
PkMS or warehouse experience
· Experience in negotiating with vendors and service providers.
Understanding of the regulatory requirements governing general IT controls
