Job Location: Alpharetta, GA 30022 Status: Full Time, Employee Industry: Retail Area Manager Stein Mart is currently seeking a talented and friendly person to join our Store Team as an Area Manager. We are looking for someone to manage and present merchandise in a specified area of the store, develop a strong customer focus, manage workflow and allocate resources, assist with selecting, supervising and developing staff, and serve as a Manager on Duty. Primary Responsibilities Merchandising Responsibilities· Taking responsibility for merchandising and presentation in an area of the store. One Area Manager in the store will have responsibility over Ladies & Boutique, Accessories and Shoes. The other Area Manager in the store will have responsibility over Mens and Home.· Ensuring high quality area presentation to maintain an appealing store area, optimize selling space and maximize selling potential.· Using Stein Mart’s merchandising guidelines and directives to create inviting merchandise displays and manage the merchandise.· Organizing department workflow by managing and assigning tasks.· Supervising and coordinating activities for specified area. Leadership Responsibilities· Serving customers by modeling a positive customer service spirit, providing customer service and modeling superior service techniques for Associates.· Providing information and communicating effectively; Helping to create an empowering environment; Building relationships that foster a healthy team environment.· Making informed decisions and developing a thorough knowledge of Stein Mart’s policies and procedures· Partnering with the Store Management Team to interview, select and hire Associates, Using Stein Mart training and development resources to develop job skills, providing information and demonstrating skills to help others learn.· Contributing to creating a safe and secure store environment.· Serving as a Manager on Duty by providing store leadership during a closing shift. Preferred Qualifications· High school graduate or equivalent (GED), Associates degree preferred.· 2 to 4 years applicable customer service work experience, Minimum of 1 year experience supervising in a multi-department environment.· Demonstrated expertise in merchandising and store presentation skills.· Exhibit a strong interest in working with people.· Results oriented with a willingness to follow through, make informed decisions, complete tasks and problem solve.· Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.· Ability to assume a leadership role in a supervisory capacity.· Exhibited attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.· Numeric reasoning to include proficiency in adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, and calculating percentages.· Computer keyboard knowledge and experience using a computer in a Windows environment.· Moderate physical effort required, Standing and walking will constitute 95% or more of a work shift· Ability to relocate. Our BenefitsIn addition to a dynamic and friendly work environment where dedication and hard work are recognized and rewarded, Stein Mart also offers the following benefits:· Associate Discount· Paid Holidays· Paid Vacation, Sick and Personal Days· Medical/Dental/Vision Plans· Short/Long-Term Disability Plans· 401(k) Retirement Plan· Employee Stock Purchase Plan· Flexible Spending Account· Life Insurance Apply now to join the Stein Mart story.
