Position Summary:

This position at Zappos.com will be responsible to develop and execute brand right online strategies that drive sales and support company objectives with an emphasis on exceeding expectations, fostering creativity and promoting accountability.

Art Director responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:Responsible for managing and designing site launches, marketing creative, and special Web initiatives from conception to completion.Manages and develops Web and Flash DesignersResponsible for design and production of work including emails, landing pages, banner ads, site enhancements and site redesignsProvides strong creative, conceptual and technical skills while maintaining high standards, and the ability to respond to continual change and challenges within our fast-paced environment.Understands the creative and marketing objectives for each project assignedPartners with marketing and merchants to design brand-right layouts for the Web with an eye to performance and ease of useWork with Creative Director, User Interface Manager Web Design Team and Copywriters to extend and optimize Web functionality, site architecture, user interface and navigationProduces, optimizes and outputs final Web-ready digital artwork in support of site updatesMaintains absolute accuracy and attention to detail throughout the creative and production processMaintains and update content templates to ensure accurate and efficient design productionMentors design staff to ensure deadlines for assigned projects are met, fulfilled and tracked

Required Skills:Bachelor’s degree, BFA or equivalent with a concentration in visual communication, digital arts or design6+ years experience in retail/e-commerce environment or related interactive agency workAn impressive portfolio of Web Designs and interactive projectsA strong sense of visual style with exceptional design, color and typographic skillsExpert knowledge of Photoshop, Image ready, Illustrator, DreamweaverStrong knowledge of FlashStrategic, big-picture thinking and attention to detailAbility to show strong initiative and manage multiple projects simultaneously and efficientlySolid work ethic and team player attitude
