Assistant Buyer

Dallas/Ft. Worth based Sports Merchandise company has an opening for an Assistant Buyer.

Key Accountabilities:

Provide operational support and assist in the selection and procurement of merchandise to support overall company sales, gross margin and turnover objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:Analyze sales history and current offering to support buy decisions for future seasonReview stock position on basic product and place/cancel re-orders as neededAnalyze Division/Department Business performance to assist in OTB processMaintain accurate On-order log by working closely with suppliers and DCInstrumental in setup and maintenance of item filesWork with DC, Call Centers, marketing and Creative to resolve any product issues or questionsPrepare item selling for vendor meetings and attend vendor appointments with BuyerAssist in training and management of Merchandise AssistantCreate and maintain AD HOC reports

Skill Requirements:College Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or Merchandising1-2 years Buying Office experience (eCommerce preferred)Intermediate to Advanced Excel knowledge (Everyday Functions include: Vlookup, Pivot Tables, IF statements, filters)Intermediate to Advanced Retail Math knowledge (Everyday Formulas include: Trend, CMU, IMU, GP, OTB metrics)Excellent organization, problem solving skillsStrong communication skills, both written and verbalAptitude to function within deadlines, while working independently and as part of a team
