Position Description



Assistant Controller



This hands-on, take-charge position is responsible for assisting with the direction and implementation of financial activities of retail operations, including but not limited to the timely and accurate generation of financial statements, monitoring the process of payables and/or receivables, payroll processing, general ledger, reconcile monthly bank statements, daily audits of retail receipts, monthly inventory, accruals, sales tax returns and other accounting functions as assigned.



Job Requirements

Education:  Undergraduate degree in such areas as accounting, finance, or economics. Experience:  5+ years business accounting experience, preferably in retail operations.  Prefer some leadership/supervisory experience. Knowledge:  Proven knowledge of financial statements, payroll processing, sales auditing, sales tax returns, bank reconcilliations, AP/AR.  Proficiency in the operation of accounting systems and spreadsheet software.  Strong analytical ability, problem-solving skills and written and verbal communication skills.  Must be able to utilize Excel to analyze, summarize and prepare financial information in a timely and accurate manner.  Must possess a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
