Assistant Manager
Asst. Station Manager in the overall operation of a retail facility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
o Performs all duties of a Cashier
o Assist Station Manager in ensuring safe, 24-hour operation of the station in conformance with Company policies and standards.
o Assist Station Manager in day-to-day operations of the facility. Knows all managerial processes. Duties may include any and all paperwork, control of fuel and merchandise, control of funds, computer data entry, cleaning, maintenance, training, and customer relations.
o Assumes control of station and personnel in the Manager’s absence. Learn all relevant Company policies and procedures.
o Directs and prioritizes the work of the station crew at Manager’s discretion.
o Anticipates problem. Takes measures to preserve the safety of employees and all others in the work location. Ensure everyone is following safety policies.SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Required:
o Previous retail experience
o Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
o Ability to work unsupervised in a fast-paced environment.
o Arithmetic skills to an eighth grade level.
o Appropriate handling of emergency situations.
o Strong interest in customer service.
o Depending on location: Food Handler’s Permit and Meat Wrapper’s Permit.
o Basic knowledge of computer operations

OTHER INFORMATION
Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment background & drug screen. Must be able to meet physical requirements of the position, such as frequent bending, twisting, and lifting at least 20 lbs. in narrow spaces. Working unaccompanied, standing, and without defined break periods. Occasionally working extended shifts of 12 hours or more, as assigned. Heavy cleaning with strong chemicals. Spoken, and telephone interaction with office and station personnel, contractors and vendors, and Corporate personnel. Periodic exposure to all outdoor conditions at all times of day. Prolonged periods (1 hour or more) in walk-in coolers at 34°F. May also experience extreme hot temperatures when operating store equipment.
