Assistant Manager (Retail/Retail Management)

Position Statement:Christopher & Banks is currently seeking an Assistant Manager for our Lancaster, OH store at River Valley Mall.  The Assistant Manager is responsible for selling to and servicing of all customers, performing all functions of management which include store operations, personnel, merchandising, marketing and visual presentation.  The Assistant Manager also acts as a Manager in the absence of a Store Manager.  Overall objective of the position is to assist the Store Manager in driving business. Essential Position Responsibilities: Regular and punctual attendance for all scheduled work hours. Provides outstanding customer service on the sales floor and in the fitting rooms with emphasis on building client relationships and achieving personal and store goals. Assists in the implementation of floor moves, sale setups, etc. Operates POS register and computer system with proficiency. Ability to recruit, interview, and train personnel in selling techniques, register procedures, visual skills, marketing programs sale setups, etc. Makes management decisions and performs all management duties in absence of Store Manager. Ability to supervise and carry out day-to-day operations of store including stock, sale set-up, straightening, visual presentation and cleaning. Ability to supervise store personnel. Knowledgeable in personal and store’s statistics.  Works toward achieving personal and store goals. Assists the Store Manager in driving the business. Assists the Store Manager in recruitment, training and coaching of personnel. Assists the Store Manager in maintaining company visual presentation standards. Ability to oversee a department, project or event and be held accountable for it. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor. Qualifications/Skills: Expertise in customer service and selling Prior management experience. Prior retail selling experience preferably in the women's clothing industry. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and use equipment such as hammers, ladders, merchandising hardware, two-wheelers, etc. Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism. Willingness to work flexible schedule including nights and weekends, Sunday night floorsets, before/after hour meetings. Ability to perform as a contributing member of a team. Strong communication skills.
