Cafe Seller

Supports cafe objectives by delivering exceptional customer service, merchandising, housekeeping and adherence to health and safety standards. This position reports to a Manager and a Supervisor directs daily activities.


RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

Driving store sales through excellent customer service and recommending additional items and services
Preparing and serving food and beverages to customers
Upholding all company and store customer service standards
Answering customer questions effectively and politely
Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation and safety standards and procedures
Maintaining Café inventory
Merchandising the display case, counter areas, and fixtures to company standards
Complying with audit guidelines
Cashier duties as assigned
Other tasks as necessary to support the management team



Required Skills:

Good knowledge and love of coffee and food
Excellent interpersonal skills
Strong customer service skills
Demonstrated verbal communication skills.
High level of stamina and ability to stand for extended lengths of time
Strong initiative and self-motivation
Energy and enthusiasm
Good writing skills and the ability to work with computers

Ability to work varied hours including nights, weekends, and holidays

Outstanding performance and accomplishments at Borders or Waldenbooks or previous retail experience
