Charity Auction Coordinator

Dreams Inc., a dynamic, rapidly growing, public company is actively seeking a Charity Auction Coordinator to work out of our Northbrook, IL office for our Schwartz Sports division.

Dreams Inc. is a leading company in the sports and celebrity memorabilia industry, with 31 franchise and retail 'Field of Dreams' stores nationwide, holds in-house framing and display manufacturing for both signed and unsigned memorabilia through the 'Mounted Memories' and 'Schwartz Sports' divisions and has an ever-growing internet sales division, 'Fans Edge'.

 

Summary:

This position will handle all facets of our charity auction consignment program, including assisting charities with the selection of items, obtaining and updating files of organizations’ information, writing up consignment orders, and following up on the return of items and payment for sold items.  Coordinator will seek out charities to use Schwartz Sports for their auction events, through live, silent, and online auction formats.  When necessary, coordinator will attend events, and act as charity moderator, as well as prepare bid sheets, run credit cards, etc.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·  Contact and introduce charities to our auction consignment program;

·  Assist charities in the entire auction process as needed, including item selection, bid sheets and collection;

·  Assist charities in contacting runner-up bidders when applicable to sell additional items either at the event or after the fact;

·  Seek out and expand auction consignment program by following up leads for new/additional charities;

· Secure the safe return of unsold items in addition to the payment of items sold following the event;

·  Attend and assist select auctions, overseeing auction as needed by charity;

·  Prepare bid sheets, item descriptions and bid price recommendations for auctions;

· Other general duties as assigned or required.

Education and Experience:

· 2+ years sales experience

· Associates Degree or equivalent

· Previous charity or auction or event planning experience a plus

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

· Must have basic knowledge of Sports and Sports Memorabilia

· Possess solid PC skills, including proficiency in MS Office, Outlook and Word

· Be detail oriented with excellent organizational skills

· Work effectively with others as part of a team

· Exercises confidentiality and discretion
