Circulation Analyst

SUMMARY: The Direct Marketing Analyst will assist the Direct Marketing Manager with the functional duties required to successfully execute catalog mailings; and analyze and report on all the Company’s direct marketing initiatives.  Primary reporting duties include analyzing list segment and catalog program performance.  The Direct Marketing Analyst will also support the timely execution of circulation strategies and catalog programs as directed by the Direct Marketing Manager, ensuring that the list selection, reporting, and other program components and requirements are accurate and meet stated objectives.  This position requires working with list processing, print production, and other outside vendors and partners to ensure timely execution of circulation and analytic activities. This position is also required to work effectively with departments outside of Direct Marketing.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following as well as other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned.

 

· Maintain reports that summarize key performance metrics on a daily, monthly, and quarterly basis.

o  Segment performance update.

o  Daily Orders and Demand by mailing.

o  List Performance Index by mailing.

o  Postal History by mailing.

· Coordinate and implement all aspects of the circulation schedule by drop including, but not limited to;

o  Maintaining catalog schedule.

o  Merge/Purge Process set up and checks.

o  Create Circulation instructions (front and back end).

o  Execute list selections for mailings.

o  Track vendor activities ensuring due dates are met.

o  Maintaining lists of catalog “opt outs”

· Support the Direct Marketing Manager with circulation duties including but not limited to;

o  Process & track vendor invoices.

o  Maintaining job files.

o  Contact with vendors.

o  Distribution of catalogs to staff.

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree (B.A/S.) in Business; plus as least 2 years business experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Previous direct marketing experience preferred.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

The ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and governmental regulations. The ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures conforming to prescribed styles and formats. The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from government entities, employees, managers, clients, and the general public.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

The ability to apply the concepts of fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions, to practical situations.

 

REASONING ABILITY:

The candidate must possess the ability to define and solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables, occasionally in situations where only limited standardization exists. The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

· Must have extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

· Must be computer literate and have significant experience with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office.

· Must have the ability to quickly learn software programs.

· Must be well organized, a self-starter, and possess excellent telephone communication skills.
