Color Specialist

Ballard Designs, Inc. is a rapidly growing, highly profitable, multi-channel marketer of Home Décor. The Color Specialist is a key member in the creative team. The Color Specialist is part of the Prepress and Production teams. This individual insures that accurate, high quality image corrections are produced on time and on a consistent basis. The ideal candidate is a team player who is adaptable to unexpected schedule changes, flexible with workload revisions, and one who can work well with others in a deadline driven, high volume work environment.

 

Position Profile

This position requires high-end color correction (85% of the work): the other 15% is masking, image manipulation and/or retouching. This is not a position for someone who has expert Photoshop skills, but rather one who has expert level color correction skills and uses Photoshop as a tool for these corrections.

 

The individual must be able to work 100% in CMYK with little supervision and minimal direction. The individual needs to be able to look at Ballard products and make accurate moves to match the product’s color. The specialist must be able to work in channels. The successful person will have a good eye (artistic) for design and detail, and the ability to recognize subtle nuances in color.
