PetSmart is an Equal Opportunity EmployerWith many positions offering relocation packages, learn more about Life in PhoenixJob Responsibilities: This position is responsible for providing analytical and project management support for a wide range of compensation projects/programs designed to support business strategies, as well as serving as a consultant to internal client groups regarding compensation. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assist in the identification and creation of short and long-term strategies for the development and implementation of compensation programs. Confer with internal clients to identify potential impacts of compensation projects on areas like organization, resources, and budget. Mitigate issues and ensure smooth delivery of project results. Create a project improvement process methodology that identifies, captures, and applies improvements to compensation processes based on lessons learned, industry best practices and feedback from internal customers. Work with Corporate Communications on communication materials related to compensation initiatives. Provide analytical support for the annual merit and bonus planning process. Assists in the communication of compensation philosophy, plans, and incentive programs. Interpret local, state, and federal laws regulating compensation practices. Work cross-functionally on other projects related to succession planning, career path planning, performance management, and field compensation. Provide ad hoc reports as needed from multiple platforms. Interacts with the Corporate and Distribution Center HR teams and department heads to provide timely market analysis and consultation. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; and five to ten years professional experience in Compensation or related field in a retail or multi-unit organization; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
