We are looking for a MS SQL DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR to join the Guitar Center family!

 

 

Job description:

*Minimum of 3 years experience installing, configuring and supporting MS SQL Server 2005 databases

* Expert knowledge of MS SQL Server architecture, administration and security
* Extensive experience with database design, optimization and automation

* Experience installing and configuring SQL Server database with large memory

* Capacity planning

* Manage backup and recovery strategy for all MS SQL databases

* SSIS and reporting services experience
* Proactive database systems monitoring

* Excellent understanding of SQL Profiler and SQL Analyzer

* Batch programming skills

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

* Ability to work in a team and individually

* Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

* Provide technical assistance to local and remote end-users

* Strong knowledge of DTS, TSQL programming and query tuning
* Provide on-call support on a rotating schedule

* Able to multi-task and work in a PCI-compliant environment

  * Act as liaison with third party vendors

  * Knowledge of SQL Server database mirroring

 

Optional skills:

* Oracle (9i/10g/11g) database administration

* Pervasive (9.5/10) SQL administration

* Essbase Administration

* MySQL Administration

* Perl, V.B script, BI
