Known as the "grandfather of specialty coffee," Peet's Coffee & Tea has been a Berkeley institution since opening its doors more than forty years ago. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Peet's Coffee & Tea was a pioneer among other food purveyors in Berkeley's "gourmet ghetto" - a collection of European style shops and restaurants. Today, traditional values are maintained through the hard work and attention to detail that is essential to creating coffees of distinction. The roasting facility is in Alameda, just a few miles from the original location on Vine Street in Berkeley, which still attracts a large, loyal following, including many who are proud that they have been customers since the store opened in 1966.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage the planning and delivery of data warehouse architecture design, configuration and performance needs assessments.
Analyze current business processes, practices & procedures and identify future business opportunities for leveraging data storage and retrieval system capabilities.
Capture requirements, design, create, manage, and fulfill requests for data warehouse & cube changes.
Responsible for developing and maintaining the Data Warehouse and Operational Data Store environments
Responsible for daily import of sales data from multi-channel sources
Determine methods and process for extracting data from source systems, transforming this data, and then loading the data into the data warehouse.
Responsible for all aspects, including concept, design, development, documentation, implementation, support and training of Data Warehouse and Operational Data Store environments
Define and capture metadata and business rules in coordination with other team members to support the projects.
Implement Cognos Transformer for cube design and server builds
Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve issues about performance and data retrieval
Participate in the needs analysis and develop Cognos data warehouse


ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
3+ Development experience with data cube analytic environments, preferably Cognos version 7 & 8 tools
5+ years experience designing and developing data warehouse solutions in a MS SQL environment
Hands on experience in database queries
Must possess a very solid background in Data Warehousing and Data Modeling.
Must have experience integrating complex data from disparate sources into a data warehouse and applying excellent analytical skills.
Must have successfully demonstrated a high level of analytical and technical
Competency in all phases of the data warehouse cycle.
Knowledge of OLAP analysis and cube development
Competency using ETL tools (SSIS preferred)
Excellent documentation, communication and follow-up skills
Team player


DESIRED SKILLS:
Cognos version 7 & 8.2 Framework experience
Cognos version 7 & 8.2 Security experience
Previous multi-channel retail, consumer product and/or manufacturing experience preferred
