Develops database recovery strategy and other database utility strategies." Ensures database software versions are properly maintained." Investigates, recommends or writes tools/scripts to support the design and implementation of databases." Provides technical advice and support to application developers." Monitors database performance, determines and implements appropriate adjustments as required.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required To Perform Essential Functions: " Bachelor s degree in computer science, specialized computer systems training or equivalent experience." Minimum of two years UDB database administration experience." Strong knowledge of DB2 UDB products on distributed systems (Unix and Wintel). " SQL Replication is a plus." Strong performance tuning skills are also a plus." Strong relational database background and SQL (Structured Query Language)." Knowledgeable and skilled in system software and hardware."
