We’re a leading consumer-driven footwear company and wholesale supplier of women’s fashion shoes to U.S. department stores under brand names like Naturalizer, Via Spiga, Franco Sarto and LifeStride. We’re a marketer and supplier of brand-name, private label and licensed footwear to department stores, mass-merchandisers, and independent and specialty stores.Position Accountabilities Assures timely completion of all assigned IS projects within the budgetary guidelines mutually agreed upon with IS Management and that the results are of a consistently high quality that meet the business needs Assures world class customer service to resolve issues swiftly and accurately to meet customer needs Assures compliance with all Sarbox data base requirementsAssures all data base standards and policies are adequately adhered to Assures timely and accurate reporting and monitoring of key systemsPosition Essential Functions Promotion of database and related objectsResponds to problem tickets Administers data security and access rights at a level appropriate to protect it from accidental or deliberate misuse as directed by DBA Manager Tunes and administers the databases to keep them running efficiently and respond to problems as they occur Utilize software diagnostic and monitoring tools to identify possible problem areas Monitor baseline reports on the database size, transaction rates, etc to use in problem solving and planning for growth Provide DBA accessibility to database servers from home in order to provide quick problem response Use available resources for problem identification and resolution Monitor backup procedures effectiveness for database recovery and test disaster recovery procedures Implement change management procedures and adherence to Sarbox requirements Update documentation and standards as directed by DBA ManagerPosition Specifications Educational Preference: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related field or equivalent experience Job Experience: THIS POSITION REQUIRES A CRIMINAL/CREDIT BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION BEFORE OFFER. 3+ years related experienceGood communication skills Problem identity and resolution skills Knowledge of Database structure Understand Sequel optimization and performance Sequel statements Computer systems Application development(.net and/or Java) Knowledge of the servers, network, and software products that form the processing environmentComputer Experience: Hardware – Mainframe and PC Software – Platform -MVS, Windows/NT/W2K, Unix Database – Supra, DB2, Oracle, SQL Server Programming languages (Cobol, Assembler, EZPlus, PL/1) Application Software - PeopleSoftCommunication Skills
