As a Department Manager you will be encouraged to “run the business” and “be your own boss.” This hourly paid position will become the bench for our management team and has great growth potential built in. Our training department has implemented a program that will start you on your path to success. Many Modell’s associates have found that their hard work and dedication pays off with numerous opportunities for growth. Responsibilities·        Ensure customer satisfaction by providing excellent customer service and responding to customer needs and market trends.·        Develop associates through hands-on merchandising instruction as well as product knowledge training.·        Build a highly-motivated, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic staff that will result in the maximization of sales and profitability goals.·        Communicate and execute all company merchandising and cleanliness standards on a timely basis to enhance presentation to our customers.·        Ability to operate all register functions. ·        Make all department associates aware of Company Loss Prevention policies and procedures.·        Use Company guidelines to control shrinkage in department.·        Ensure that stockroom is neat and organized by category and that boxes are labeled for easy identification. ·        Comply with all corporate direction, District, and Regional Training Manager direction. ·        Communicate with corporate buyers and controllers.  Requirements·        Experience in a retail or sporting goods environment preferred.·        Outstanding customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.·        Strong selling and leadership skills. Benefits·        Discount on Store Merchandise.·        Training program to set you up for success.·        Competitive salaries.·        Comprehensive benefit package.·        Management bonus program. Our Company Mission StatementModell’s is America’s oldest and largest family-owned sporting goods retailer.
