Reporting to the Deployment Manager, the Deployment Engineer will be part of a team of engineers providing middleware administration support, managing application releases, build and deployment scripts, and support the deployment of software applications, updates, configurations and content for eCommerce division of Sears Holdings. As a member of the team, you will have the chance to work on unique and innovative solutions on a highly scalable eCommerce platform. This position is responsible for analyzing and testing new code to uncover any potential defects to functionality or issues that could cause system reliability issues. This position will partner with the development teams to ensure that all functionality is met from the business requirements. The online channel is a key focus area for the company and is growing at an aggressive rate, creating an exciting workplace and utilizing your skills to their potential.QualificationsQualifications:The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill sets, and abilities desired in order to be successful in this role. " Bachelor's degree in computer science, or equivalent degree/work experience" 2+ years of Middleware administration experience (IBM Websphere, WebSPhere MQ, JBOSS, Tomcat) and/or code deployment and release management (Clear case, ANT, UNIX, etc)" Strong understanding of the design and requirement of a multi tiered architecture:o Web servers (Apache, IHS, etc.)o Application servers (JBOSS, WebSphere, etc.)o Database Servers (DB2, MySQL, Oracle, etc.)" Strong customer-service skillsPast or current experience with Open source products (JBOSS, Apache, MySQL, etc also a plus&Essential Functions: " Consults with internal customers to deliver middleware and application services for projects." Coordinates and manages middleware changes to the environment."
