Design & Construction Engineer - Florida

Necessary Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of: Building construction codes & practices Ability to create architectural renderings AutoCAD and rendering software Documents management system Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement

Skills & Abilities: Strong negotiation skills Proficient in MS Office Suite, Internet Lead and direct others to generate expected results Management of resources to optimize – equipment, facilities, employees, methods and materials Effective time management & organizational skills

Essential Functions: Develop and review drawings, specifications, schedules, and techniques to complete projects on schedule and within budget. Create architectural renderings for proposed new and remodeled Ashley Furniture facilities and Ashley Furniture Homestores. Revise renderings as necessary to meet the needs and desires of Ashley Furniture. Oversee all aspects of project bidding, including preparation of bid packages, solicitation of bids, qualification of contractors, and negotiating of contracts. Develop and review site plans and potential site layouts to ensure the highest and best use of the property while meeting the needs of Ashley Furniture. Oversee quality control and inspection of construction projects including concrete placement, structural welds, and roof installation, to ensure the project is completed properly. Approve all invoices and progress billings and forward to appropriate area for payment.
