Director, Retail Operations

Career Level Manager (Manager/Supervisor of Staff) Director, Retail Operations As the Director of Retail Operations you will be responsible for developing, enhancing and driving all Lands' End operational practices for the Lands' End Shops at Sears. This includes leading the retail support team, and development and execution of operational processes in our 200 LE Shops and new Mega shop concept domestically and in Canada.Successful candidates will be equipped with the ability to act strategically, manage the execution of short and long term goals, apply financial acumen, and build relationships. In this role you will build cross functional teams and work groups.QualificationsKey Responsibilities: -Oversees the retail store support function- Develops operational strategy and fiscal objectives- Establishes and controls departmental budgets (payroll and expense)- Defines organizational structure and directs talent management (performance and succession planning)- Creates an energizing, highly productive and flexible work environment for the retail support team- Collaborates with all functional groups within Lands' End and the Sears retail organization to ensure the retail division operates in an efficient, secure and high-service manner- Facilitates cross-functional process development and improvement- Coordinates with LE Senior Leaders and Regional Directors to identify and prioritize areas for testing customer-focused business opportunities- Partners with LE Planning and Inventory teams to manage and prevent product issues and discrepancies- Partners with Sears field leadership team for new store opening requirements and monitoring of existing stores- Administers and monitors store operations to achieve a consistent and customer-friendly brand experience- Ensures operational policies and procedures are developed, effectively implemented, and maintained appropriately in all stores and store concepts- Ensures all customer and field staff issues are tracked, resolved and consistently reported in a timely and efficient manner- Gathers data, develops insights and formulates improvement recommendation and/or corrective actions- Performs robust business analyses and builds financial business cases for senior management as necessary- Directs the training function for new and existing stores, ensuring meaningful training initiatives and programs are effectively developed and delivered- Supervises store communication for all existing and upcoming stores (LE@Sears operational websites, newsletters, etc.)Requirements- 10 years retail operations experience in specialty store and/or big box environments- Ability to identify opportunities, diagnose issues and develop new business processes -Highly skilled in problem solving and priority management- Project planning and management skills- Ability to lead direct reports and cross-functional teams through issue analysis and resolution- Ability to apply analytical acumen to understand complex business scenarios- Excellent communication skills; listening, verbal and written- Fosters teamwork and works well in a collaborative team environment- Strong work ethic, complemented by positive, can-do attitude -must be self-driven and prepared to work in start-up environment- Strong technical skills and computer knowledgeSears is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
