Director of International Tax

Top international tax person reporting to the VP Tax. Responsible for all areas of international tax planning, acquisitions, reorganizations and audit support. Responsible for monitoring operational compliance with agreed upon procedures. Overall responsibility for foreign statutory filing of tax returns. Must possess strong FAS 109 background and will be responsible for all international tax aspects of the company's consolidated financial statements. Must possess excellent verbal, written and analytical skills and be capable of understanding complex tax issues and their impact on the operations and communicate international tax issues to top management in a clear and concise, non-technical manner.Must have 10-15 years tax experience, at least 7 of which include planning and implementation of international tax strategies for large multinational corporations. Strong European experience a must. Develop tax planning strategies to maximize after tax profits from our foreign activities.Be responsible for the GAAP tax reporting of our international operations. This includes first review of the international FAS 109 documentation and calculations, before submission to the Director of Federal Tax.Develop solid working relationship with foreign management team, resulting in a solid understanding of the workings of our foreign operations.Insure local, foreign compliance with tax strategy guidelines.Keep abreast of international tax developments by reading and networking.Work closely with treasury on international financing and FX issues.Assist in the analysis and planning of foreign acquisitions.Take an active role in leading the department to constant process improvement and enhancement of shareholder value.
