Director of Operations - Telecommunication/Retail Industry

CEVA Logistics provides Fortune 500 companies value-added supply chain services, such as network design/redesign, high-velocity cross docks, fulfillment centers, sequencing, kitting, sub-assembly, return logistics, dedicated contract transportation and e-Commerce solutions. We are currently recruiting for a Director of Operations.Location of this position is flexible. Position Description: Manage, direct, and implement operations strategies and objectives to ensure the achievement of division's goals. Focuses for short-term goals are on-time delivery, cost controls, quality, gross margin, and human resources. Focuses for long-term goals are the formulation, planning, and implementation of strategies. Key Accountabilities • Responsible for attainment of profit objectives of contracts, provide financial analysis and decision making for customer. • Responsible for the organic growth and development of additional business opportunities with existing customer. • Ensure safety, maintain quality, establish and monitor cost control programs. • Lead and foster creative problem solving, develop positive and professional relationships with customer and within contracts. • Provide leadership in coaching, mentoring, personnel selection, professional development. • Oversee of operations management within the company guidelines. • Provide support and guidance to direct reports. • Manage the contract staff to assure continued quality service by writing procedures, testing, hiring and training managerial and operational personnel. • Lead corporate productivity and quality award programs to recognize outstanding performance. • Encourage use of Performance Management system in all facets of the Contract operation. • Train managers and other personnel strategically in all areas that will help them achieve the contract goals and objectives and satisfy the customer • Oversee the establishment of ongoing programs to ensure continuous improvement. This includes the use of Kaizen, LEAN and the EQS program to maintain quality performance. • Motivate the workforce through the use of the Performance Management program; encourage input from the employees through Employee Involvement Groups; and reward for continuous performance by using the quality and Productivity Award programs. • Establish and monitor cost control programs, including annual budget development, monthly P& L review and payroll and cost analysis. Through the use of Performance Management projects, guide managerial staff to monitor and control costs on a weekly basis. • Oversee administration of contracts, including: customer related performance reports and all other correspondence; requests from vendors, general office and contract employees; and all other items that fall within managerial scope of responsibility. Manage: Project Managers, Contract Managers, Operations Managers, Operations Supervisors, Operations and Administrative Personnel. Employment RequirementsEducation/Certification: A Bachelor’s degree with a plus in logistics, 3PL or transportation.Experience: •15-20 years of manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, and distribution & transportation experience with a track record of increasing responsibilities and a proven background in driving profitable growth. •A demonstrated history of success in global, multi-site strategic operations and supply chain leadership. •Significant experience maximizing the use of lean manufacturing, Just-In-Time inventory, Six Sigma, and other Best-In-Class tools, concepts, and principles. •Preferred background is a candidate with experience predominantly from Best-In-Class supply chain organizations with a focus on optimizing the global manufacturing and distribution footprint. •Experience working around the world, with an understanding of various cultures •Strong background in business and financial management •Experience working with cross-functional teams, including but not limited to new product development, marketing, sales, finance, and human resources. Skills and Abilities: Must have demonstrated excellent leadership and interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication and customer relations skills. Excellent organizational and financial management skills. Ability to train, motivate, coach and counsel others. Must possess problem solving, conflict resolution, decision making and planning /organizing skills. Ability to multi-task and excellent time management skills. Must be creative and possess the ability to think strategically outside the box. Must be computer literate.
