Director of Planning

Job Function/Purpose:The Director of Planning is responsible for supervising and managing the functions and analysis performed by the Merchandise Analysts and Manager of Allocations for Christopher & Banks, C.J. Banks, and Acorn. Develops sales, receipt, markdown and inventory plans for all divisions of the company with input from senior management. Essential Job Functions:·  Ensures the development of merchandise plans that allow merchants to maximize sales and gross margin.·  Responsible for in season OTB review and analysis.·  Participate in markdown review and provide general business update/forecast. ·  Participate in strategic planning and analysis for all three brands as it relates to long term corporate growth.·  Establish, monitor and standardize processes and procedures for Merchandise Analysts. Monitor and support the Analysts in their relationship with their respective merchants.·  Work with Store Inventory Analysts to develop and implement strategies to ensure appropriate allocation of merchandise.·  Proactive partnership with IT on system needs and enhancements.·  Other duties as assigned.  Job Qualifications:·  Bachelor’s degree in related field.·  10+ years of retail planning or allocation experience, preferably in a specialty store environment.·  Proven management, leadership and team building experience.·  Strong prioritization and decision making skills.
