District Loss Prevention Manager- San Antonio
Position Summary: The Loss Prevention Regional Manager directs, controls and participates in the loss prevention activities of the assigned National Stores within the Region(s). The primary responsibility is to provide leadership, direction, coaching and support to achieve the Company’s performance plan in inventory shrink, cash control, loss prevention/safety training, audit compliance, investigations and special projects as assigned by the Director of Loss Prevention. In addition, the Loss Prevention Regional Manager is the primary communications liaison between the Loss Prevention Support Center and local law enforcement authorities.
Responsibilities
1. District Loss Prevention Manager Supervision
Supervises all LPDM’s assigned to area in regards to their specified job descriptions.
2. Store Visits, Inspections, Installations & Audit Compliance:
The Loss Prevention Regional Manager is responsible for conducting preplanned store visits in conjunction with the Operations District Manager, documenting and communicating issues, which could lead to potential shrink and/or company loss. LP District Managers are responsible for visiting multiple stores daily unless extenuating circumstances dictate otherwise. The frequency of store visits provides Loss Prevention District Managers the ability to regularly measure execution expectations, ensure company standards are being maintained and to follow up on previous store visits to acknowledge improvement or redirect if needed. He/she assesses the operations of the store via the Risk Assessment/Safety Inspection and audit compliance program, reviewing and assisting in the correction of substandard performance issues with the Store & District Manager. He/she addresses physical security issues, reviews alarm report exceptions and ensures repairs are conducted. In addition, he/she conducts site surveys on potential new store sites documenting the potential risk for shrink and completes the loss prevention orientation modules for new associates.
3. Investigations:
Utilizing company reports, Silent Witness, confidential informants, surveillance and exception reporting systems, he/she investigates all shrink related issues, conducts interviews/interrogations within company guidelines, prepares case documentation and partners with the District Manager and Human Resource Divisional Manager for case disposition. When appropriate, refers cases to local law enforcement for prosecution. Attends court and legal hearings as needed/assigned. When appropriate assists Human Resources with EEOC related cases.
4. Safety/Risk Management:
The Loss Prevention Regional Manager completes Safety Inspections in assigned locations as required by company policy and local code. Partners with the District Manager to plan and conduct safety training in assigned stores and/or assures management is completing monthly training as required by company policy. Inspects fire fighting and safety equipment on store visits, correcting issues as needed by partnering with store management. He/she completes risk analysis on a bi-monthly basis in assigned stores, formulating action plans with the District Manager to decrease safety related incidents.
5. Office Administration:
Reviews and responds to E-Mail, and updates voice mail on daily basis. Plans schedules related to store visits and audit compliance on a weekly basis. Plans effective visits with District Manager on a monthly basis to tour market and foster partnership/communication. Writes and reviews case reports, gathers additional information as needed to close open cases. Maintains case files and office documentation. He/she will complete reports within 48 hours of the incident or issue.
6. Program Development:
As appropriate, writes/revises and submits policy drafts for review by home office. He/she makes recommendations to existing audit programs and assists in the development of shrink awareness programs. Administers these programs per company policy and documents effectiveness of such programs, recommending changes as necessary.
7. Networking:
Develops and maintains contacts with fellow loss prevention personnel and local law enforcement authorities within assigned area. He/she attends local meetings regarding law enforcement, fraud, safety and general retail. Attends continuing education modules with loss prevention/security associations and organizational functions.
8. Training & Development:
Participates in store meetings when scheduling permits and fosters communication between associates and loss prevention department. Attends and participates in yearly Target Store meetings, partnering with District Manager and Store Management in preparation for meeting. Conducts new store loss prevention/safety training and existing store loss prevention/safety training as requested by store management. In addition, attends specialized training as directed. Assists in training and developing local Market Investigators.
9. Inventory Control:
Partners with District Management in coordinating supervisory coverage for inventories. Attends and supervises inventory process when appropriate.
1. Shrink Control:
The Loss Prevention Regional Manager is responsible for partnering with the Regional Manager and District Management Teams to ensure proper execution of company driven loss prevention/shrink reduction programs. He/she will accomplish this through execution of awareness programs, audit programs, training meetings with store associates. The Loss Prevention Regional Manager is responsible for assisting the District LP Manager in driving Target Store Programs. Shrink goals will be established and met for each location assigned.
2. Cash Control:
The Loss Prevention Regional Manager will monitor each assigned locations cash variance by reviewing the P&L, Loss Prevention Score Card and daily E-Mails from Cash Management. He/she will investigate all unexplained variances by reviewing sales media, interviewing witnesses if appropriate and interviewing associates involved.
3. Audit Compliance:
The Loss Prevention Regional Manager is responsible for completing the Risk Assessment in non-target locations quarterly and once per month in target locations. He/she will review the results of the assessment with Store and District Management, assisting in the formulation of action plans to correct potential shrink issues and ensure each location is at the minimum company expectation of 85%.
4. Training & Awareness:
The Loss Prevention Regional Manager is responsible for partnering with the District Manager to ensure all loss prevention related company programs are being executed per policy. He/she will attend store functions and meetings as scheduling permits and utilize an agenda in such meetings to raise awareness. Such meetings can cover a variety of subjects. Examples would be Shrink Awareness, Shoplifting Awareness, Internal Theft Awareness, & Safety Awareness.
5. Safety & Risk Management:
The Loss Prevention Regional Manager is responsible for partnering with the District Manager to ensure the assigned district meets or is below the company-targeted number of worker’s comp injuries per year.
The Loss Prevention District Manager is responsible for partnering with the District Manager to ensure the assigned district meets or is below the company-targeted number of general liability injuries per year.
The Loss Prevention Regional Manager will achieve these goals by partnering with the District LP Manager, reviewing Risk Management reports, attending store meetings, coaching and counseling when appropriate.
6. Investigations:
The Loss Prevention Regional Manager is responsible for investigations of all shrink related losses to the company within the assigned region(s). He/she will accomplish this by utilizing company reports, informants, surveillance, CCTV, and conducting interviews/interrogations with subjects as necessary.
7. Regional LP Budget:
The Loss Prevention Regional Manager is responsible for adhering to company policy regarding expenses. He/she will accomplish this through monitoring the established district LP budgets within the assigned region and make adjustments as necessary in relation to travel, meetings, supplies, & communication.
JOB RELATED DEMANDS
1. Travel:
Loss Prevention Regional Managers are assigned territories that generally consist of 10-12 Operating Districts. Depending on the store density in an assigned area, Loss Prevention Regional Managers must be able to travel up to 80% of the time. Travel will be made in accordance with the National Stores Travel Guidelines.
2. Hours of Operation:
Loss Prevention Regional Managers are “on call” 24 hours daily 365 days of the year to either lend technical and/or physical support in the event of a security or safety emergency. “Normal” hours of operation may vary with the level of demand for the LP Operators expertise and/or support.
