Manager (Manager/Supervisor of Staff) Minimum Education: High School or equivalent District Manager: Maryland/Delaware/Penn We are looking for a District Manager for Hot Topic with specialty apparel, multi-unit experience who will be responsible for leading and directing a group of stores towards achieving company objectives. The District Manager's role is to achieve district operational consistency and to communicate and implement company directives in partnership with the Regional Director and HQ. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Measurements of job performance are total district sales, comp sales, expense control, position retention/turnover, successful internal promotions and manpower planning to support growth. Sales Performance: The District Manager is responsible for achieving comp store and new store sales. Establish and maintain consistent "sales first" focus within district; Ensure that all stores consistently use Hot Selling skills and provide superior customer service; Maximize new store sales results by ensuring that all new stores are opened with fully trained management staffs Identify market conditions and merchandise opportunities: Communicate to Regional Director and HQ; Achieve consistent district merchandise presentation and visual housekeeping standards to maximize sales volume; Work with store managers to formulate game plan to turn around under-performing comp stores. Team Development: The District Manager is responsible for all aspects of staffing, training and development to support the company growth. Proactively determine District manpower needs in support of maintaining a solid management bench; Assess and develop store staff to ensure optimum performance; Identify key personnel within the District and target for development to next level; Ensure training is taking place at all levels within the District; Create an environment that fosters loyalty; Maintain and communicate company culture; Work with store manager on interviewing skills with a focus on hiring high caliber candidates. Profitability Management: The District Manager is responsible for controlling expenses at the store level. Monitor and control payroll usage to meet company expectations; Achieve District shrink at or below company plan; Monitor and control store supply expense; Monitor and control all aspects of operational compliance.
