Smith+Noble (smithnoble.com), is the custom window treatment division of Cornerstone Brands, Inc.  We specialize in high end, unique design, custom window treatments.  We started our business in 1987 and today we are the leading mail order catalog for custom window treatments.  We joined Cornerstone in September, 1998. Cornerstone has a portfolio of catalogs including:  Frontgate, Ballard Designs, Garnett Hill, Territory Ahead, Travelsmith and Improvements.

Cornerstone was purchased by IAC/Interactive Corp. in April, 2005. IAC is an interactive conglomerate operating more than 60 brands in sectors being transformed by the internet.  Some of the brands include Ask.com, HSN, Ticketmaster, LendingTree, Match.com and Gifts.com

A Merchandising Executive that can lead a team, develop and implement product programs that support smith+noble’s mission, goals and objectives.

Maximize sales and earnings potential; minimize internal operating costs and provide the company with differentiated, competitive advantages. 

 

your responsibilities:

Product Management

Establish and conduct a professional product management program that maximizes sales and profits, incorporates research, conclusions and recommendations along with vendor management, original product development, product refinement, pricing (margin) and internal program implementation.  Regularly report on product management activities and product performance.

Research & Analysis

Conduct comprehensive, regular internal and external research of markets, customers, competitors, and internal product trends and performance.  Develop detailed management reports complete with supported recommendations to maximize competitive advantages, sales and profit margins.

Departmental Personnel & Systems

Establish systems, policies and procedures including budgets, plans and reports as necessary to ensure smooth, timely, efficient and effective merchandising work and performance monitoring.  Develop and manage inter-departmental systems to insure product advantages are well communicated in marketing materials and that products are implemented smoothly in customer service, finance and information systems.

requirements:

 

Education:
Bachelor's Degree preferred


Experience:
5 years +Merchandising experience

5 years +-Product Development

5 years +-Product Design

experience sourcing out of US

retail buying experience necessary

interior design experience preferred
