The regional office in Cambridge, MA, is a central office for all 30 North Atlantic business locations in MA, RI, CT, NH, and ME and we also support 7 locations in London, UK. Our entrepreneurial regional set-up gives us the freedom to design and implement programs that further enhance the business strategies for our region and allows us to take advantage of the best offerings from our Central offices if fits with our regional initiatives.   The Executive Director of Operational Finance (our internal title is Coordinator since we do not use titles like "Director and Manager" in our organization) will be the primary point of contact leading the Accounting and Financial functions of the Region. Active participation in the direction of the North Atlantic Region, which includes our stores in Great Brittan, and National team, is expected. This position will provide accounting and financial expertise, guidance and leadership to the North Atlantic Region of Whole Foods Market Accounting Team, Store Operations and Regional Leadership.   The successful candidate will Partner with the Regional President and all regional leadership on operational finance matters to identify profit drivers and maximize EVA; responsible for presenting tactical and strategic solutions. Responsibilities include; oversee the periodic accounting close process to assure the timely and accurate reporting of regional financial results. Lead the financial reporting and analysis, annual budgeting, and periodic/quarterly forecasting process to provide the Regional President and all regional leadership with the necessary information and tools to clearly understand the financial results and identify opportunities to enhance profitability and EVA. Perform EVA analysis for real estate and capital investment decisions; prepare profitability projections and analysis for new stores. Actively participate in key initiatives such as IRMA implementation, cost file accuracy project, Store Ops workbook and GPS. Develop, implement and assure compliance with effective internal controls, policies and procedures that comply with Sarbanes-Oxley 404 requirements, & ensure compliance with all licensing, permits and taxes governed by federal, state or local municipalities. Assure reporting, support and integration with the UK where different currency must be taken into consideration from all sides of the financial perspective.   Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred. At least 7 years related financial leadership experience, retail grocery experience highly desired. Candidates should have the ability to effectively present information using current technology responding to questions from groups of National, Regional and Operational Leadership, as well as, Team Members. Must be well versed in financial reporting, general ledger, accounts payable, internal controls, and financial planning and analysis. Must be able to travel 10% of the time, including quarterly trips to Central office in Austin, Texas and to the UK to support our London office.   Pay is competitive.
