Financial Reporting Accountant

Responsibilities:

 

The Financial Reporting Accountant is responsible for moderately complex month-end close duties, reporting, and ad hoc analysis and projects.  This role will be primarily responsible for recurring journal entries, account reconciliations, and some reporting. The FR accountant will also be responsible for fixed asset accounting and reporting on a newly converted system. Works closely with Sr. Accountant and Manager to assist with projects. Reports to Financial Reporting Manager with high visibility to Controller. Must possess the ability to:

 

· Prepare journal entries and help ensure that the month-end close process is performed in a timely and accurate manner with a high level of attention to detail

· Prepare and coordinate the compilation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations

· Develop departmental procedures and accounting policies

· Assist with high-level company jump start initiatives

· Support weekly, monthly and quarterly financial reporting and analysis needs

· Actively participate in forecast and budget creation and reporting

· Identify and implement process improvement where applicable

· Interface with Controller and other senior management personnel

 

Qualifications:

 

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

· 2-3 years related work experience (accounting, finance, forecasting, analysis, etc)

· Experience in retail or apparel manufacturing environment a plus

· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

· Demonstrated initiative and drive to achieve results

· Excellent communication skills

· Thrives in a team environment

· Attention to detail in work execution

· Advanced PC skills including Excel and PowerPoint
