RETAIL GENERAL MANAGER

Service Systems Associates is a fast growing company that operates retail stores in tourist and cultural attractions around the country.  We are looking for a qualified General Manager to join our team at the Minnesota Zoo.

 I.  PURPOSE OF POSITION

The General Manager is responsible for meeting business objectives and sales targets. The General Manager partners with the Director of Retail to ensure all goals are met.

 II. POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

· Minimum 5yrs. General Manager experience in retail.

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to articulate to our client and Executive Team.

· Proven leadership skills with an understanding of the importance of team building/development, while fostering partnerships.

· Exceptional problem solving/decision making skills combined with the ability to be organized.

· Demonstrates financial management, merchandising, analytical, planning and leadership skills.

· Demonstrates the ability to remain flexible in a fast past environment.

· Strong P.C. skills, including Word and Excel.

 III. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

· Bottom line responsibility for the achievement of sales plans and profit margin.

· Understand and follow all customer service programs.

· Identify new ways to generate sales and achieve goals.

· Show dynamic leadership ability and motivate staff to exceed expectations of the customer and our client.

· Proven ability to recruit, hire and train qualified employees.

· Manage performance by identifying and addressing issues through timely coaching and counseling.

· Ensure sales are maximized through having the right product and communicating inventory opportunities to the buyer.

· Manage payroll and controllable profit within established guidelines.

· Direct store leadership in management of all inventory control programs.

· Ensure all company merchandise presentation standards are met.

 

During the peak season, the work schedule includes weekends, and occasional evenings. 

Work in unique surroundings, with well established company. Salary position based on experience, and excellent benefits that include paid vacations, bonus program, 401K, medical and dental insurance, and disability. Applicants should be from the Minnesota Metro area, a relocation package is not available.  EOE
