Position SummaryThe Field Human Resources Generalist is responsible, under broad direction, to support location leadership by providing coaching and guidance on programs including but not limited to: associate relations, recruiting, compensation, EEO, safety, worker’s compensation, benefits, policy interpretation and employment law practices. This position will partner closely with location leadership and Human Resources Manager to champion excellence and consistency and identify trends and patterns that impact associate morale and retention. Position Responsibilities1. Coach location leadership on associate issues, define appropriate steps to adhere to company policy and ensure the fair and equitable administration of company policies and practices.2. Provide market human resources partnership in support of the business leadership team to drive operational excellence in meeting the needs of the business3. Responsible for performance against Affirmative Action goals and serves as the EEO Administrator. Provides training, prepares documentation for affirmative action plans, assists in the investigation of EEO complaints, and may act as a company representative for compliance reviews.4. Ensure compliance with all legal requirements and government reporting regulations related to the employment of associates including but not limited to OSHA, EEO, ERISA, FLSA guidelines, AAP, Harassment and Discrimination and other applicable federal and state requirements.5. Investigate and respond to litigation claims as directed by Human Resources Manager.6. Responsible for the effective administration of the performance management process for all location associates. Work with location leadership to properly place associates in job titles that align with the associate’s goals and performance metrics. 7. Responsible for initiating recruiting and staffing in non-store locations, including salary placement and relocation administration through collaboration and advisement of the Human Resources Manager and staffing department. 8. Responsible for conducting training relative to Human Resource topics to include but not limited to team building, interaction management, and process improvement for associates as required. 9. Responsible for performance against established safety programs. Analyzes incident data to identify trends and recommend solutions. Reviews processes for improvement. May act as company representative for OSHA audits and compliance reviews. Work closely with Headquarters Safety and Health team in conducting safety and health audits and recommending safety best practices for assigned locations.10.Provide assistance to the Human Resources Manager for the management of workers’ compensation activities to include vendor performance, management of return to work programs, and making settlement recommendations.11.Acts as a consultant to associates and location leadership relative to compensation related issues. Working with the Human Resources Manager, will ensure internal and external equity and legal compliance by making certain associates are correctly placed in salary grades and job placement. May conduct compensation training at the location.12. Will conduct new hire orientation and may perform system maintenance for new hires as required. May conduct exit interviews for various levels of departing leaders. Will play a key role in associate relations. Partners with functional areas in Corporate Field Human Resources to ensure integrity of internal processes. Position Requirements Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred or equivalent experience Minimum 4 years experience in applicable human resources Skill requirements include leadership, written and verbal communications, organization planning and problem solving Ability to interface and maintain effective partnerships with all departments and associates in a team-oriented environment Organizational, problem solving, analytical and interpersonal skills, including ability to resolve disputes and observe confidentiality Strong knowledge of employment law Ability to use computer software relevant to execution of job responsibilities including Microsoft Office applications A relentless focus on you.
