Global Merchandise Planner

The Merchandise Planner will work closely with the Merchandise Manager in developing a comprehensive core assortment for Direct to Consumer globally and independently establish the assortment on a store by store level. Through developing effective merchandise plan-o-gramming, this candidate will assist in maximizing sales and profitability for Brand Retail stores globally. The ideal candidate will be self-starting, motivated and results oriented with the ability to work effectively on a team as well as independently. The Merchandise Planner must exhibit a strong business partnering skill set by which they will collaborate with all relevant areas of the D2C organization and other relevant stakeholders, in order to meet organization and department objectives. Ability to project manage, multi-task and prioritize responsibilities will be key to the success of this role.

 

Key Accountabilities

 

40% Store Merchandise Planogramming

·         Utilize Space Planning system to develop effective plan-o-grams for Brand Retail Stores globally 3-4 times per year

·         Make revisions to plan-o-grams on ad hoc basis to incorporate new product launches and exiting products

·         Determine assortment on store level and communicate outgoing and incoming items to allocation team in order to effect store orders in a timely manner

·         Based on development plans within organization, establish assortments and plan-o-grams for new stores in accordance with timing dictated from store operations and allocation teams

·         Provide sku level assortment information (shelf fill quantities / # of stores) to Merchandise Manager for input into forecast on monthly basis

·         Develop 1:1 personal relationship with store managers through regular, proactive communication and store visits

·         Collaborate with D2C visual team to ensure visual guidelines are adhered to when creating plan-o-grams

 

30% Product Assortment Planning

·         Collaborate with Merchandise Manager to determine overall product assortment for Global BR stores

·         Develop and distribute new Item packet - launch information and signage directive for stores

·         Attend product information sessions within organization (Marketing Integration, Quarterly Brand Updates etc. ) for strong understanding of product assortment and marketing initiatives that will drive demand - utilize knowledge in assortment planning and plan-o-gram process

·         Collaborate with Global Product Category Manager on Extended Line / Licensed products based on space allowance within stores

 

30% Analysis & Reporting

·         Collaborate with MG3 on Space Planning system - leading process in analysis and metrics required for effective use of tool within D2C globally

·         Regularly produce analysis on sku level and bay performance through Space Planning system - effectively implement learnings into planograms in order to drive optimum business results

 

Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge

  Bachelors Degree in related field or equivelant experience 3-5 years relevant business experience in a retail environment preferred

·         Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (primarily Excel, Word and Power Point) required, Space Planning or SAP knowledge preferred

·         Ability to analyze data, identify opportunities and effectively recommend priorities based on an understanding of merchandising strategies and objectives

·         Previously demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional relationships cross functionally Proven track record of success shown through previous experience and strong professional references

·         Domestic & International Travel Required (Less than 10%)
