The WEB DEVELOPER will be a key team member to bring to life a new brand, “at Guitar Center.” At its core is “at.guitarcenter.com,” an online non-commerce content destination site that houses diverse proprietary and third party content including media such as videos, interviews, sound bites, possibly a blog, etc. The site will have proprietary functionality needs to be determined as the brand develops.
This is a new website. This position will need to incorporate designs and styles from existing and newly generated content in a coherent, intuitive, value-adding fashion. This position demands an individual who is a great teammate, forward thinking, driven and proactive, passionate, and talented.
An online resume and examples of work are a necessity. Candidate will provide URLs of projects that he/she has worked on.
Duties include:
Launch and maintain at.guitarcenter.com siteDesign, program and code the back end functionality and logic for the at.guitarcenter.com siteDevelop administration interface and content management system functionality for a variety of contributors and content typesImplement brand vision and identity packageManage outside online media and content vendors, providers, etc.Help measure and provide metrics of usage of siteCreate new modules and prototypes as required, including site navigation, and layout
We’re looking for someone who:
Who has solid experience in a fast-paced web application development environmentWho has a passion for musicHas a relevant degree and 3-5 years of direct experience in a hands-on marketing or ad agency environment.
Proficiencies desired:
Web application technologies including: servers, HTML, DHTML, CSS, AJAX, ASP, JSP, PHP, ftp, mySQL, ColdFusion, sql server, CSS, RSS, Javascript, trafficking of web assets, etc.Web production applications and techniques including Photoshop, Flash, site maintenance, troubleshooting, internet network connectivity protocols, etc.Common web multimedia formats of all typesMicrosoft Word, FileMaker, email appsSQL helpful
The position reports directly to the Executive Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer of Guitar Center, Inc.
