Job Specifications

 Selects and buys merchandiseNegotiates terms of purchase with vendorsTravels domestically and internationallyDesigns products unique to companyPrepares purchase orders, expedites and facilitates the flow of merchandise from vendors to Distribution CenterDirectly supervises an Assistant Buyer and has responsibility for his/her training and developmentProvides stores with direction in merchandising presentation and space allotment, point of purchase information.Makes periodic store visitsAttends Manager/Merchandise meetings

 

 

Job Requirements

 5+ years in-depth buying experience in house wares and/or seasonal merchandiseCreative product development experienceStrong negation skillsAbility to meet tight deadlinesStrong computer skills; excel and wordValid current U.S. PassportOverseas travel experience a must
