Human Resources Generalist

POSITION SUMMARY: Directs Human Resources related duties at the professional level in multiple locations in New York City by carrying out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: employee relations, training, recruitment, benefits, progressive discipline, termination, workman compensation and federal, state and OSHA laws compliance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

*Creates various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel in assigned locations; assists in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.

*Controls compensation program; monitors performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.

*Oversees benefits administration to assist benefits representative in claims resolution, change reporting and communicating benefit information to employees and coordinates open enrollment for assigned locations.

*Manages workman compensation by gathering data and employee statement to report work related injuries and illnesses to insurance company.  Monitors patient progress and follows up on claims with claim manager.  Maintains *OSHA records and responds to all OSHA surveys and requests.

*Directs new hire orientation.  Processes all new hire forms for payroll and benefits.  Creates and maintains personnel and benefit files.  Creates and maintains records in compliance with company policy and DOT regulations for driver physicals, drug testing and driving records.

*Conducts exit interviews and analyzes data and makes recommendations to the management team for corrective action, continuous improvement and possible termination.

*Resolves employee relation issues such as employee complaints and harassment allegations.

*Advises in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.

*Maintains Human Resource Information System records and compiles reports from database.

*Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment. Partners with employees and management to communicate various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations.

*Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
