Human Resources Manager
This position is responsible for the state of Maine, Northern Mass. and Coastal New Hampshire The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned: Resolve employee relations issues by investigating complaints made by associates, assisting lawyers who represent the company with investigations and defense litigation, maintaining thorough associates records, and coaching store management personnel on how to resolve personnel issues. Interact with District Managers, Regional Security Managers, and the Labor Relations department to monitor compliance with labor union regulations and investigate labor union grievances. Review salary and payroll issues to ensure the proper procedures are adhered to and to advise regional management teams of key issues and trends. Interact with regional management teams to discuss their labor requirements and training needs and to identify and create strategies to reduce associate turnover. Assist with associate transitions for pourover, acquisition, and liquidation stores. Recruit people to work in the retail stores by visiting competitor and non-competitor stores, developing recruiting strategies that are congruent with the needs of the company, placing classified employment advertisements in newspapers, and assisting District Managers and Pharmacy Development Managers with college recruiting. Complete the initial screening of Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager candidates and provide feedback and interview support to regional management teams. Conduct harassment, diversity, and other management-related training for regional and store management teams. Minimum age of 18 years old due to the experience and business travel required. Ability to pass drug test. Committed to providing customer service that makes both internal and external customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated. Ability to preserve confidentiality of information. Ability and willingness to move with purpose and a strong sense of urgency. Accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to organize and prioritize a variety of tasks/projects. Familiarity with industry/technical terms and processes. Ability to work within strict time frames and resolute deadlines. Ability to travel on a regular basis to store locations. Ability and commitment to develop and mentor Rite Aid associates. Knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and state and federal employment law. Ability to work weekends and extended days on a frequent basis. Ability to work day or evening hours. Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Business or related field, plus two (2) to four (4) years' of retail management experience with a minimum of two (2) years' experience as a training/development manager or a human resources generalist; or equivalent combination of education and experience. In addition, either a Human Resources or Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) certificate is preferred.
