Corporate Development Instructional Designer Job Responsibilities: This position develops training programs and materials including participant manuals, workbooks, facilitator guides; job aids, company communications and evaluations, as well computer/web-based training media for internal and external audiences. This position works closely with its internal and external customers to customize and implement organizational training initiatives. All work is focused on improving employee communications, organizational learning and development, operational efficiencies, and other initiatives consistent with Dollar Tree?s overall goals.Functions: Conducts needs analyses, determines learning objectives and competency indicators, designs course content to ensure learning objectives are met. Designs, plans, coordinates, conducts and evaluates training programs (both internal and external) for target audiences. Determines most effective instructional method for achieving learning objectives. Develops computer/web-based training, which requires the creation of storyboards, graphics, flash interactions, and web pages to meet the needs of internal and external customers. Completes page layouts using creative design skills for both print and web. Partners with business units to identify performance gaps or learning opportunities and develops learning interventions that target the identified gaps or/opportunities. Designs procedures and processes for the administration of training; monitoring employee progress and program effectiveness. Stays informed of new developments, methods, practices, and techniques in the Learning and Development industry. Maintains active membership in professional organizations. Education, Experience, and Skills Required: Excellent verbal and written communication skills Bachelor's degree in Training and Development, Human Resources, Business, Communications or related field Five years of experience in the Learning and Design field completing course design, development, delivery, measurement tools and reporting At least two years experience creating web-based training (distance learning) using state-of-the-art software to produce graphic designs and web lessons; to include Illustrator, Fireworks, Photoshop, Flash, Captivate and Dreamweaver Experience using InDesign to complete page layouts for printed materials Video editing experience using Adobe Premiere Pro is a plus Retail experience is a big plus Knowledge of curriculum design, learning models, and training effectiveness practices Ability to effectively carry out responsibilities of the position, working independently and without close supervision Excellent presentation skills Excellent interpersonal skills Excellent organizational and project management skills Ability to take complex concepts and break them down into understandable content for internal and external audiences Proficient using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint Certification from ASTD as a Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) is a plus https://recruiter.kenexa.com/dollartree/cc/CCJobDetailAction.ss?command=CCViewDetail&ccid=bupJEdUjsTs%3D&job_REQUISITION_NUMBER=48728
