 JOB DESCRIPTION

An opportunity to join the Enterprise Storage team within the Systems Architecture and Engineering department is available.  We are looking for an experienced person to join our team in a technical engineering and support role.  Support areas include the mainframe disk storage environment within our enterprise data centers.  This includes implementation of new technology and support of the existing infrastructure.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

As a member of the storage technical support team you will be responsible for the following:

· Provide ongoing Level 3 support for our enterprise disk and tape storage environments.

· Troubleshoot and rectify storage related issues.

· Work with fellow storage team members and/or our storage vendors to configure and provide cost estimates as applicable.

· Work with Mainframe technical team to troubleshoot problems and performance issues.

· Work with our other storage administrators to perform storage administration duties as required.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:Previous Z/OS storage administrator experience of at least 7-10 years required in a medium to large-scale production environment.Expert level skills in DFHSM, DFSMS, DFDSS, and FDR from initial installation, customization, to propagation across multiple LPAR’s with successful day-to-day steady state support.DFHSMSMS expertise in a multiple SMSPLEX environment required with high emphasis on ACS routine cleanup and consolidation, dataset naming standard governance, and SYSPLEX storage administration best practice methodologies.Expert knowledge with system/user catalog subsystems and utilities with focus on prior production experience performing catalog and SMS segregation of production, development and test subsystems for optimal recovery.Solid experience with SRDF, BCV replication technology is desirable.Experience in a production environment utilizing ABARS, Dino TREXX, Intellimagic RMFMagic, EasyHSM, Mainstar, and other ISV storage administration utilities.Ability to manage medium to large scale projects while mentoring others.Prior management and team lead experience preferred.EMC storage hardware is a plus.Disaster recovery experience is a plus.BMC storage related product knowledge is a plus.ITIL ITSM experience is a plus.Highly motivated with strong customer service focus.Excellent communication skills and the ability to successfully interact with internal customers, team members and management.Strong technical documentation skillsStrong interpersonal/organizational skills: the ability to meet deadlines, work in a team environment, and follow written policies/procedures.Participate in rotation of primary on call support.  Provide off hours and weekend support for the enterprise infrastructure.  Ability to travel independently when required.
