Individuals who are driven to earn our customers' trust and business every day, who act with integrity, who treat everyone fairly and value diversity, and who are accountable for their actions are welcome to show interest in becoming a member of our winning team.Kenmore, the largest household appliance brand in the U.S., is looking to add a talented, energetic industrial designer to its growing product development team and design group within Sears Holdings Corporation, located in the Chicago Metropolitan Area.Position will work among a cross-functional team of designers, engineers, brand managers, buyers, and manufacturing vendors on a diverse range of products including but not limited to: Counter-Top Appliances, Major Kitchen Appliances, Laundry/Garment Care, Floor Care, Home Environment Products, etc.QualificationsRequired Qualifications & Skills:- 3-5 years direct experience within field of consumer product design. - Bachelors degree in Industrial Design or related field- Excellent concept visualization skills including hand sketching, 2d drawings, and 3d modeling/rendering- Proficient use of current and relevant design software. Adobe CS, Solidworks, Rhino, and Alias Sketchbook preferred.- Proven ability to manage design-related projects and activities with minimal direction or supervision.- Experience working with or managing external design resources.- Ability to interpret relevant design trends and consumer insights into compelling, brand-appropriate design concepts.- Understanding of brand identity and positioning in relation to product design- Experience working directly with both domestic and overseas manufacturing vendors; moderate travel required.- Additional background or experience in User Interface or Graphic Design a plus.BenefitsAs a Sears professional, your career path options will be determined by your performance as well as your desire to advance further within the Sears organization.
