SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: Responsible for the sales promotion of PowerShares products to a wide institutional audience -including hedge funds, trading desks, banks, insurance companies, asset managers and other serviceproviders. Sales and promotion efforts can be throughout the U.S. in order to increase assets andmarket share of PowerShares products.PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:* Follows-up on existing producers and continuing production within this group of selling brokers* Further develop existing relationships while identifying new business opportunities. * Acts as a communicator to all institutional accounts to be sure that the sales management of the firm is informed as to the current changes in PowerShares, new products that are being launched, and sales promotion programs such as PSU events that are being offered in their area. * Based on customer needs, designs a systematic business plan to expand sales.* Activities supporting the above functions include sales meetings, public seminars with existing clients, one on one sales activates with key institutional contacts.* Works closely with assigned Internal Sales person in promoting PowerShares products.* Completely understand and be able to articulate the key features and benefits of the ETF such as Tax Efficiency and Trading flexibility.* Works closely with Index Providers in order to gain full understanding of the Index and ETF and its benefit to the client.* Responsible for abiding by all rules of compliance, especially the clearance of material used in the field.* The image and actions with outside broker-dealers/RIA¡¿s are key aspects. Conduct and quality of presentation must always be at very high levels.* Works with Regional Sales Manager, National Accounts and Internal Wholesalers to implement a business plan that will expand PowerShares current market share and overall visibility.* Communicates regularly with institutional contacts by personal visits and phone/email to ensure that their needs are being met and they are up to date and familiar with our products. Works with Regional and National Sales Managers, National Accounts, and Internal Wholesalers to resolve any account problems that may arise.* Prepares and delivers product presentations to both internal and external audiences.* Represents PowerShares at industry conferences and meetings.* Works effectively with internal staff, including operations and product management, to promote the success of the PowerShares product line.WORK EXPERIENCE: * Five or more years of field Wholesaling experience is desired.KNOWLEDGE/ ABILITIES: Presentation, communication (verbal and written) and selling skills, particularly in a consultative, relationship manner. Must also demonstrate initiative and the ability to implement and follow through on business plans and sales strategies. The ability to succeed in team environment is critical. Interpersonal skills required for communicating up to ninety percent of the work time with clients. Excellent analytical and organizational skills required to determine the needs of the advisors while communicating product information, and time management skills required in order to effectively meet the needs of the territories(s).WORKING CONDITIONS: * Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, or temperature. Occasional lifting of less than 10 pounds. Frequent sitting. May require travel from 25% - 50% of time. FORMAL EDUCATION: * A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent is required. Knowledge of sales and marketing principles as acquired through the successful completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing or related field is preferred.LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION: * NASD 7 and 65 or 66 required.
