Internal Audit
Our client, the largest grocery wholesaler in the West, is offering this opportunity to someone with some audit skills who has the desire to learn more and grow in an audit career.
Working with limited supervision, develops, conducts, and documents audit programs as assigned. Works with department management to develop audit plan, conduct audits within established schedule and budget, and present audit findings to management. May assist user departments in the development of improved work processes to assure internal controls are maintained.
Qualifications Include:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field. CPA and/or CIA certification preferred but not required.Position requires appropriate financial or internal auditing experience. Big 4 or other large public accounting firm experience is a plus. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint and Access is preferred but not required. Overall knowledge of internal control environment is preferred. This can be demonstrated through internal audit projects performed or internal control weaknesses identified during financial audits. Knowledge of information systems controls is a plus. Exposure to the following industries is a plus: warehousing and distribution, retail, real estate, insurance, finance. Also, some work on SEC filers is a plus.Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Effective communication will be important when planning, executing, and reporting on the results of internal audit projects and presenting other matters to the audit committee and/or senior management. Other skills that are important include: building rapport with the auditee, analytical skills in order to identify the source of issues identified during an internal audit project, and organizational skills to be able to manage projects effectively and efficiently.
