Purpose and Scope: Provide Technical support for applications across multiple business units within Polo Ralph Lauren utilizing Java/J2EE/Websphere/DB2 technologies on an IBM iSeries AS/400 platform.




Responsibilities:



Provide technical support to the IT team for a variety of applications, including Wholesale Planning, Merchandising and Sales applications
Develop, support and maintain applications by following Polo standard practices thru alignment with teams
Efficiently perform the following SDLC activities: Detailed Design; Test Plan Creation; Coding; Code Review; Unit Testing; System Testing; System Development; Support Quality Assurance (QA) processes through all phases of QA regression and performance testing.
Constructively contribute to the development of programming standards for improvements (i.e. architecture, technology, methodology)
Perform troubleshooting and debug system problems in a challenging environment.



Job Requirements:



4 year BA degree or Community College with Technical Certification.
1 year business experience in Retail or Apparel industry preferred.
3 years experience in software development with J2EE technologies.
Possesses strong knowledge of core Java/J2EE technology.
Strong development experience in DB2 stored procedures and SQL on iSeries (AS400) platform.
Familiarity with SQL tuning and optimization in DB2 on iSeries platform.
Exhibits solid skills in web based enterprise application development using J2EE, JSP, EJB, Java Script, Java-JDBC, XML, VBScript, HTML and Websphere Application server on an IBM iSeries.
Strong knowledge in MVC architecture and working experience in J2EE Struts, J2EE Struts-Tiles and RMI.
Hands on experience in Websphere configuration and System Deployment.
Must be proficient in Active X, Microsoft Active Directory, J2EE Log4j, J2EE Design Patterns, LDAP, Websphere Security Role Mapping, Java Mail, JVM Parameters, JAAS.
Knowledge of Spread 7.0 (Far Point Solution) and Crystal Reports is a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
