Overview:  Upscale home décor catalog and e-commerce company is seeking a multi-tasking person with 2-3 years experience in graphic design and web administration to increase web sales from traditional catalog-driven sales.  If you have copy writing and marketing abilities and relate to home decorating, as well as have excellent design and technical skills, this job is for you! 

 

This position encompasses four main functions:

 

·  Graphics Designer

·  Web Administrator

·  Web Marketer

·  Copy Writer

 

Graphics Designer Responsibilities

·  Provide and maintain the ‘creative vision’ for web, catalog and retail promotions

·  Design web graphics for inclusion in e-mail campaigns, promotional e-lifestyle articles and newspaper ads – from concept to completion

·  Work with merchandisers to develop weekly e-mail campaigns and seasonal promotions

·  Enhance Merchant’s creative ideas about product promotion and customer behavior

·  Develop consistent visual standards to promote brand consistency through web, catalog and retail outlet

 

Web Administrator

·  Maintain digital assets residing on our e-commerce host’s Mercury 6.0 Platform.  Our website is hosted by DMinSite, an e-commerce partner specializing in catalog sales.  DMinSite’s key mission is to increase client sales by implementing Best Web Practices and new technology ideas.  To learn more about this firm, go to http://www.merlite.com/article.asp?ai=34

·  Develop landing pages or micro sites for new categories and events

·  Assist with site maintenance and static page updates

·  Create and upload articles, e-mail campaigns and new style pages

·  Write HTML e-newsletters, campaigns and decorating articles

·  Segment e-lists and deploy e-mail campaigns accurately and on a timely basis

·  Manage product upload through organizing and managing product spread sheets

·  Crop and manage catalog photo images for website

 

Copy Writer

·  Develop campaigns and headlines based on seasonal sales and best sellers

·  Develop lifestyle e-articles about decorative styles, entertaining ideas and seasonal decorating

·  Research decorative trends to incorporate into relevant lifestyle suggestions and campaigns

 

Web Marketing

·  Work with Merchandising Department to develop quarterly campaigns reflecting the catalog’s seasonal emphasis

·  Work with Marketing Department to support ‘trigger’ e-mail campaigns and scheduling

·  Manage e-mail list via segmentation techniques and analysis

 

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

·   Bachelor’s Degree in Graphics Design is preferred

·  2-3 years experience with proven track record of enhancing sales through creative campaigns and best web practices

·  Working knowledge of HTML, Photoshop, Quark Express, Adobe, and InDesign

·  PC based organization; must be skilled with MS Office (Word, Excel, & Outlook)

·  Outstanding project management, organizational and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment

·  Attention to detail and ability to multi-task while maintaining excellent design skills

·  Strong verbal and written communication skills

·  Ability to relate and promote to upscale lifestyle - (our customers are 70% women, 40 – 65 years old)

·  Good copy writing and proofing skills would be a plus, though not a requirement

·  Local candidate preferred
