Jr. Web Developer

What You Do: Work with technology team to build and maintain database-driven websites in PHP. Partner with editors and site developers to design new portions of the SparkNotes website. Design relational databases and PHP / Perl APIs to those databases. Maintain existing Perl website and assist in its conversion to PHP. Collaborate with editors and designers to design and implement improvements to the user experience of a busy teen-oriented site. Assist with front-end programming in JavaScript and database programming in SQL.What's Required: Bachelor's degree One to three years of PHP programming experience Experience with PHP and Perl programming languages in database-driven websites Must be familiar with Unix environment and have SQL programming experience Familiarity with XSLT and MySQL a big plus
